Elementary
Resource Specialist,
5th Grade
|
<>Hi! My name is Cheryl Wells, and I work to support students and teachers in the 5th grade. I was born and raised in Texas, am married, and
have four children and five grandchildren. I am here with my
husband, Dennis, who is a high school math teacher at Huasteca.
All of our family continue to live in Texas.
I received my undergraduate degree in Deaf Education from Lamar
University in Beaumont, Texas. My master's degree is in special
education from the University of Texas in Austin. I have taught
at the elementary level for 31 years. My experience includes
teaching students with hearing impairments, early childhood birth to
age 5, first grade, and Title 1 reading and math. In addition, I
have also served as elementary counselor and educational
diagnostician. Prior to coming to ASFM I served as the special needs
teacher for grades K-5 in Asuncion, Paraguay.
This is my third year in Mexico. My first
two years in Monterrey have been wonderful, and I look forward to
exploring and getting to know even more about this country so close to my
home state.
