<>Hi!  My name is Cheryl Wells, and I work to support students and teachers in the 5th grade.  I was born and raised in Texas, am married, and have four children and five grandchildren.  I am here with my husband, Dennis, who is a high school math teacher at Huasteca.  All of our family continue to live in Texas.

I received my undergraduate degree in Deaf Education from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.  My master's degree is in special education from the University of Texas in Austin.  I have taught at the elementary level for 31 years.  My experience includes teaching students with hearing impairments, early childhood birth to age 5, first grade, and Title 1 reading and math.  In addition, I have also served as elementary counselor and educational diagnostician.  Prior to coming to ASFM I served as the special needs teacher for grades K-5 in Asuncion, Paraguay.

This is my third year in Mexico.  My first two years in Monterrey have been wonderful, and I look forward to exploring and getting to know even more about this country so close to my home state.

"The wisest mind has something yet to learn."
George Santayana

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt within the heart.
Helen Keller

I know but one freedom, and that is the freedom of the mind.
