I am very happy to be in my second year at ASFM! I began my
career in education 13 years ago in California public schools. Then I caught the "travel bug" and journeyed overseas to work at the American
School of Brasilia in Brazil. After, I moved to China and taught at the Shanghai American School. I am happy to be living closer to my family in California and am enjoying the travel and culture of Mexico.
In education, I have experienced the powerful impact of
holistic and inquiry instruction, based on Cognitive and
Experientialist theories of education. I aspire to ensure that my
students are active learners, who are empowered to make
decisions about their learning. I always strive to create a relationship
that fosters dignity and respect amongst my students along with a
strong potential of academic, social, and emotional growth.
As a resource teacher, I will be following an inclusive model of instruction where I will support all students and teachers within the walls of the classroom. It is essential that I work side-by-side with teachers to ensure the best support for all of our students.
I am thrilled to be a part of this warm community of families
and teachers.
