Thank you for visiting my website.

Hi! My name is Vincent Ventura, and I’m proud of being a part of such an accomplished school community as ASFM.

My roots bring me back to the warm airs of the Philippines. Not long after my birth, my family moved to Toronto, Canada. After attending my first performance of “The Phantom of the Opera,” I was hooked to the theater! I decided to pursue a B.A. at the University of Windsor, with a specialization of Drama in Education. I continued my education at the University of Toronto where I completed an M.A. in Child Studies & Education. The students in Toronto were kind enough to allow me to teach them for a memorable 4 years. Not surprisingly, the neon lights of New York City caught my eye, and consequently I moved to the Big Apple, where I was a classroom teacher and literacy coach for 4 years. While in New York City, I had the opportunity to work closely with Columbia University's Teachers College Reading & Writing Project and MONDO Publishers.

As I enter my 2nd year at ASFM, I continue to be proud of contributing to such a professional learning community. The ASFM teachers and staff demonstrate a commitment to student learning and teacher learning, on a daily basis.

Personally, as an educator, I strongly believe that all students can achieve high standards given sufficient time & support. Moreover, as an AP of Literacy, I believe that all teachers can teach to high standards given right conditions & assistance. It is my goal to assist in creating a safe and nurturing environment, where all students and teachers can grow and achieve personal success.

When not working, I enjoy reading a good book or catching a movie. Any recommendations?

On that note, I look forward to another amazing year at ASFM, and hopefully meeting you!
